This post is brought to you by MiMedia personal cloud storage and The Motherhood. All thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own.
It is just now, as I sat down to write this post, that I realize just how close we are to that time…
Family Vacation.
This happens every other year in my family. 10 now grown-up siblings with our spouses and children.
All. In. ONE. House.
And guess who is in charge of planning…
Yours truly.
This year two of my brothers won’t be able to make it, and we won’t be having extended family there, so the planning is much easier. One of those brothers has 5 kids so that brings our count down considerably. At my current count I believe we are at 33 people. Not too bad.
Here is our 2014 Zion Nation Park Family Vacation crew…
Our last Family Vacation was in the beautiful Zion National Park. This year, the magnificent Yellowstone.
Last Family Vacation I took a TON of pictures.
I had wanted to make photo books for each family, but we ran out of budget.
The website we used to host our family pictures also went offline shortly before our family vacation so I was stuck with tons of pictures and nothing to do with them. I was kind of sad that I didn’t even have a convenient way of sharing them with my siblings.
I was also really frustrated that I was constantly running out of storage on my phone! (I’m sure many of you can relate.) I like to have access to my photos, and if I upload them to my laptop and delete them from my phone to make room for new media, I no longer have access to my other photos. 🙁
This year I’m much more prepared….
MiMedia personal cloud storage solved my media storage problems!
Recently, I started using MiMedia personal cloud storage. MiMedia is the personal cloud storage we’ve all been waiting for. Device-agnostic, MiMedia is compatible with both Mac and PC, as well as multiple mobile operating systems. MiMedia provides a digital home for all your photos, videos, music, and important documents so that you can access these anytime, on any device (web, computer, phone).
The user interface is a big thing that sets MiMedia apart from other multi-platform cloud storage services. The home screens one the website and the smartphone app are very well organized, visually appealing, and easy to navigate.
Here is my MiMedia.com website dashboard:
You can see how easy it is to access your files on the menu bar in the middle of the screen. As I said before, you can upload photos (unfortunately, MiMedia does not currently accept RAW image files), videos, music, and documents.
Once uploaded, finding your pictures is really easy. You can search by year or month, and often, if you already have your pictures organized into collections before you upload, MiMedia will automatically put your pictures into collections for easy viewing and sharing.
Here is a look at what my video collection looks like…
You can also create easily shareable collections via the MiDrive area of your page. This summer I’ll create a Yellowstone Family Vacation 2016 collection on MiDrive that I can invite my family members to share. To have viewing access all they need is the link. If they want to contribute their own pictures or videos, or chat with each other, they can simply create their own MiMedia account.
MiMedia personal cloud storage features 3 different account options

When sharing your collections with family, they have the option of either creating a free account (with ample storage for the average person), or using one of the paid account options.
Right now I’m on the 500 GB option, and while I haven’t finished uploading all my laptop photos, I already have a couple thousand photos uploaded, several videos, and still have yet to hit 1% of my storage space. You can actually choose to have all your pictures upload automatically, but I prefer to upload mine manually.
