I may be alone in this, but cleaning dishes relaxes me! What does not relax me: gross sponges and dishwasher water filled dishes! Ew!

Now that I have a toddler (who LOVES to eat!) I find myself doing more and more dishes. Our dishwasher is now always filled with adorable little multicolored bowls and cups, which I later find in the dishwasher filled with water. Gross.

Before having to wash little toddler dishes, I never thought dishes moving around in the dishwasher would be a problem. I mean, our large cups and bowls are too big and heavy to move around from the water. I kept trying to wedge my son’s dishes in between bigger cups to prevent them from flipping mid-wash and filling with water from who knows what stage of the wash, with not much luck.

Enter the Boon SPAN

span

Boon recently sent me a box filled with helpful dishes and gadgets for baby and toddler mealtime, including the new Boon SPAN.

The new Boon SPAN made loading my dishwasher quite a bit easier. Just place the dishes in the top shelf of the dishwasher, and stretch SPAN to your desired length and width. Your dishwasher may not always be filled with toddler dishes, like mine, so you can just stretch it over half of the shelf. That’s the beauty of stretchy silicone. Be patient with it, though. I’m not the strongest woman out there, so it was a bit of challenge getting it to cover the whole shelf at first.

Boon FORB MINI

Hand washing is easier, too, with the new Boon FORB MINI. When we got Boon’s FORB MINI my husband’s first words were, “Sweet! Now I won’t need to wash my hands after doing the dishes because of the smell.” Time to throw out that nasty sponge! The silicone material is meant to prevent the growth of mold or mildew, so long as you wash it regularly. Its open design also helps prevent food from getting stuck inside.

Sometimes, I am in too much of a hurry and don’t have time to clean the pans right after I use them, so they sit for a few hours (or all day), that makes clean up even harder. However, I used the FORB MINI on a pan that I used to make eggs, and it came off in seconds!

Unfortunately, the open design of the bristles means that the FORB MINI can easily go over food without catching it. Kind of like trying to brush your hair out with a wide toothed comb and missing spots. Just go over the same spot a few extra times and the food will come right off.

The bristles on the FORB MINI are also softer than those on other scrubbers I’ve used, so while it will be gentle on the dishes, it will also gentle on the food. You may have to put a bit of extra elbow grease into your wash.

Eating

The Apple Crisp Muffins are a big hit!

Boon’s other products make meal time a breeze. Their SNUG SPOUT and SNUG STRAW really come in handy, since they fit over nearly any cup. This little man loves to bite on his cup spouts (as you can see from this picture), so our cups end up lasting much longer than the tops.

Boon’s PLATTER also helps meal time stay organized, and the rubber bottom prevents the plate from moving around. Now this little mischief maker has a harder time knocking his plate onto the floor, thank goodness!

Boon has so many other products that fit any lifestyle! Whether your child loves to wear down utensils or you are lacking a dishwasher and need a good drying rack, they’ve got you covered.
