Watching Sesame Street Live

Last night was a greatly anticipated evening in our house! On Sunday we surprised the boys with the news that we had tickets to go to Sesame Street Live Let’s Dance. Even the 7 year old was excited.  Our two year old has just started watching tv and is in LOVE  with Elmo.  He couldn’t wait!

Hosted by two live performers, Sesame Street Live “Let’s Dance!” offers an up-close, interactive experience that includes dance parties. Elmo uses his imagination to ‘Do the Robot,’ Cookie teaches all ‘feets’ to dance, and Ernie shares the fun of dance with the Sesame Street favorite “Shake Your Head One Time.” Favorite friends join the audience on the floor – dancing with fans, not just for them. It’s Sesame Street Live like you’ve never experienced it before!

When we got there, the anticipation for the show to start was almost too much for Little Z.  “MoMo! MoMo!” he called over and over until the show started and the characters arrived on stage.

When the show started all my kids were absolutely in awe! I was unsure of how my 7 year old would like the show, but I think he loved it just as much as his brothers did. My 2 year old is just starting to watch television and LOVES Sesame Street (and Elmo, more particularly), and my 7 year old likes to watch with the younger boys.

Sesame Street Live Let's Dance

Sesame Street Live Let’s Dance is a larger-than-life, musical touring stage production featuring Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie…and more. Each performance is 90 minutes of singing, dancing and audience participation, including a 15-minute intermission. The perfect length for even very young children!

The kids were encouraged to get up and dance during the show. Those sitting in the floor seats (which I highly recommend) have space to get up, dance around, and interact with the characters when they come dance among the audience.

I cannot tell you how much my kids enjoyed the show. My 7 year old liked it, my 5 year old loved it, and my 2 year old couldn’t get enough of “MoMo!”. He’s flipping out right now just seeing the pictures as I write this.

Here are my 7 and 5 year olds getting their moves on…

Last night was one of those nights that I’ll cherish as a parent. It is sappy, but at times it brought tears to my eyes seeing my kids enjoy themselves so much!

If you live in the Shreveport/Bossier area and missed last night’s performance of Sesame Street Live “Let’s Dance!”, there are still two performances you can catch today, Wednesday February 18th at 10:30 am and later this evening at 6:30 pm.  Ticket prices are: $15, $22, $33 (Gold Circle) & $58 (Sunny Seats). My kids love Elmo and cookie monster, there favorites from Sesame Street. I love that those closer to the stage get to get up and dance and actually interact with the characters, very cool! Looks like a blast!
