Thanks so much to Giftster for sponsoring this post. All opinions expressed in this article are honest and are my own.
Your mom is on the phone and wants to know what you, your kids, and your husband want for Christmas.
The same thing happens every year. You rack your brains trying to remember just one of the thousands of items your kids have recently become obsessed with getting, and you can’t for the life of you think of something your husband wants (aside from the latest first person shooter game)!!!
Last year I wrote about an awesome website that allows you to compile a gift wish list and share it with others.
Giftster is a free universal family online wish list maker and sharing service. At Giftster you can create groups (family or otherwise) with whom you want to share your wish lists. Wish lists can also be made public and searchable by other Giftster users–this feature is great for wedding registries and baby registries, teachers’ classroom needs, etc.
You can read a more in depth intro to Giftster review from last year.
This year there are Giftster has added more great features to adding to and sharing your wish lists even easier! You now have the ability to add Child Accounts for each of your children that can be controlled from your main account! I’m over here saying, “Yay! Now my 7 year old can add his own favorite things to his wish list, and I will no longer have to remember that he wanted some obscure Swamp Monster Costume he found on Amazon.” I can even create a wishlist for my toddler.
Adding things to your Giftster wish lists is super simple with the “Add to Giftster” button. The button, when added to your toolbar, makes adding gifts to your wishlist as easy as pinning your favorite recipe! Not only is it easy, but using the “Add to Giftster” button will ensure that you get exactly the item you want. The button links directly to the item’s webpage where it is available for purchase.
Within your wish list, you can let your friends and family know how much you want each item by ranking your wish list items (using a 5 star system). I haven’t yet explained to Big Brother how to rank his wishlist items so none of the stars are filled.
A new feature to the wish list maker this year is the ability to add a pictures to each wish list item. If you’ve added the item via the “Add to Giftster” button on your browser toolbar, adding an image is as easy as pressing the “fetch” button and waiting for Giftster to fetch an image from the item’s webpage. If your wished for item doesn’t link to a webpage, or if an image isn’t available on the webpage, there are many other options for uploading an image.
Here is a look at my sister’s wish that she has shared with our family…
On the right side there are some very handy icons that allow the gift givers to: search for the item on Amazon (using the magnifying glass icon), add that item to your own Giftster wish list (using the star icon), mark the gift as purchased (using the present icon), and hold the item (using the lock icon) if you intend to purchase the item, but have not yet purchased it.
If you are in search of a great wish list maker then stop by Giftster.com and create your free account. You can also download the Giftster mobile app for easy wish list creation and gift giving on the go!
