Remember when I posted this on Facebook post last month?

Yeah, I was none too happy that my 19 month old had just learned how to climb out of his crib. Though one of my boys transitioned to a toddler bed at this age, Little Z is nowhere near ready.

I can’t imagine a worse way of spending my afternoons and evenings than taking my too-young-to-transition-to-a-toddler-bed crazy baby back to his bed 8 bazillion times. Thankfully, oh so thankfully! Levana sent me their Sophia Baby Video Monitor in the nick of time! I have so many better things I need to be doing with my time.

Last week after a particularly rough day where, for reasons out of my control, Little Z didn’t get his afternoon nap, I comment to The Husband that I was amazed by just how much I got done during naptime every day. Because Little Z is such a tornado, it is during nap time that I: pick up the house, clean the kitchen, sweep the floors, finish school with the boys (who are homeschooled), and write my blog.

With the Levana Sophia Video Monitor I can make sure that Little Z is staying safely in his crib–instead of climbing over the side and plunging awkwardly towards the floor. I no longer have to wonder if today is going to be the day Little Z falls from his bed and breaks his arm. It is such a load of stress off to have that peace of mind.

Levana video monitors also give parents peace of mind with the ClearVu digital wireless technology. Unlike other monitors, this technology gives you a secure digital signal. No one will be hacking your signal to watch your baby sleep.

Here are some of my other favorite features of the Levana Sophia Video Baby Monitor:

  • The battery life is awesome! The baby monitor goes to “sleep” after a period when there is no sound in the nursery. The second your baby begins moving or makes a noise (even a very quiet one) the camera and monitor activate so you can see your baby. This enables up to 48 hours of battery life!
  • Talk to Your Baby Two-Way Intercom: I can’t always come rushing in right when my little guy wakes up from his nap. It is nice to send in some reassurance over the intercom that Mommy will be in in just a second.
  • Expandable for up to 4 cameras: Now, we only have one camera hooked up to the monitor, but how cool would it be to have a monitor hooked up in each of my kids rooms if we needed it.

Other features include:

  • Invisible LEDs

  • Higher frame rate

  • 15ft night vision

  • soothing night light

  • 500ft ClearVu® digital signal

So, last week not too long after I put Little Z down for his nap I took a little trip to the bathroom. And, because it is a law of motherhood that moms cannot go to the bathroom uninterrupted my older boys came pounding on the door, “Mom! Mom! Baby is climbing out of his crib!”

They had seen Little Z on the monitor trying to climb out of his crib! Here is a little video of Little Z caught in the act of climbing out of his crib.

I was able to get to Little Z and put him safely back in his bed. Since that incident last week he hasn’t attempted to climb out of his crib. Win for mama! Now that I can see Little Z safe in his crib on our Levana video baby monitor I can get back to cleaning the kitchen…and all those other things I do while he is sleeping.
