We became Signing Time fans six years ago when we introduced the Baby Signing Time DVDs to Big Brother. They were quite near miraculous in their ability to keep my son engaged while teaching him important signs. He began communicating through sign before he was 18 months old. Now, two boys later we are still enjoying the benefits of our Signing Time DVDs.
I was very excited when I saw on YouTube several weeks ago that Rachel Coleman was creating a new series called Rachel and The TreeSchoolers. Rachel and The TreeSchoolers was created using an approach called layered learning, and is designed to be a complete preschool curriculum.
I showed my 4 year old the first episode a couple weeks ago, and he was completely captivated! I was impressed to see science, language, sign language and more all integrated into the episode. I only watched a little bit of the episode with him, but it was one of those times where I felt completely okay sitting him in front of the TV. 🙂
You can watch the first few episodes of Rachel and the TreeSchoolers at this link on YouTube.
