The Elf on the Shelf seems to be all the craze this year. This is the 4th year the funny little elf has descended on our home to spy on my children’s every move. This year I wanted to get creative about how we introduced our Elf on the Shelf.
This year our Elf arrived in style. Actually, he arrived on our doorstep complete with his suitcase and treats from Santa. He even had a letter for the boys!
The boys were completely surprised, and thought their elf showing up on their doorstep with luggage in tow was pretty fun.
And they loved the letter their elf wrote them! Here is a copy–excuse any grammatical errors. I was trying to write it really fast before my boys noticed what I was doing. (I’ve made this Elf on the Shelf letter printable in case you’d like to print it out to use as a template when writing your own letter to introduce your Elf on the Shelf. Just click on the letter and it will take you to a page where you can print.)
Here is a more generic letter…
I’ve also asked some friends for ideas about how the elves made their debuts in their homes. Here are a few ideas from them on how to introduce your Elf on the Shelf:
Similar to us, Sippy Cup Mom‘s Elf on the Shelf showed up at their front door.
Mom Endeavors‘ elf listened to Santa and popped up on top of the draperies high out of the reach of curious hands. He too brought a letter for his new family. P.S. At Mom Endeavors you can find lots more ideas for your Elf on the Shelf!
My Crazy Good Life has included 5 ideas about how to introduce your Elf on the Shelf. One year they found their elf, Louie, repelling from the car roof!
If you haven’t yet purchased an Elf on the Shelf for your family, you can find them on Amazon.com. (They can occasionally be difficult to find in stores because they tend to sell out.)
