Disclosure: As a Joovy Blogger I received the following product at no cost, for review purposes. All opinions are honest and are my own.
The latter half of this summer has been fairly uneventful for us as far as adventures go. We’ve mostly hung around the house and the pool in an effort to keep cool. Louisiana in August isn’t exactly pleasant weather.
We’re looking forward to the more temperate months of fall when we can actually enjoy the outdoors without my middle child looking like he is going to die of heat stroke (that kid sweats more than I’ve seen anyone sweat before!). The Husband keeps telling the boys that he is gonna take them out camping when the weather cools off. That will be fun. I don’t think I’ve been camping since before I had kids. Crazy!
It was with these future camp outs in mind that I was interested in the Joovy Foocot. While sleeping in a sleeping bag on the rocky ground of the tent (because, somehow, no matter where you pitch your tent, the ground directly beneath your tent always manages to be the rockiest ground in the whole campsite) is almost a rite of passage, it really doesn’t make for the greatest night’s sleep…even for the kids.
The Joovy Foocot is a portable child’s cot that eliminates the need sleep on the rocky ground or dusty carpet. Super lightweight, this portable child’s bed folds and unfolds like a camping chair. The Foocot supports a child up to 48 inches tall or 75 lbs. It is comprised of a steel frame and 600D nylon fabric. The Foocot comes with a heavy duty fitted sheet that not only gives your child a soft surface to sleep on, it also keeps your Foocot clean!
I have to tell you my kids were so excited about the Foocot! I mentioned above that it has been just too hot for camping here. So on an evening when Little Brother’s sheets were in the washing machine, and I was just too tired to put new sheets on before I began our uber long bedtime process, I got out the Foocot and let Little Brother try it out for a night (or for 5 nights 🙂 ).
First of all, I love how easy it is to set up and put away. My 3 and a half year old takes a great deal of pride in the fact that he can set up the Foocot and put the sheet on all by himself. When he is done using it it is super quick for me to fold and stow in its carry bag.
I’m going to let Big Brother show you just how easy the Foocot is to set up.
(Sorry about all the background noise from the baby. This was our 4th take and I wasn’t about to ask them to do another. LOL)
The Foocot comes in 4 colors and retails for $69.99 and is available at Joovy.com as well as Amazon.com.
