Having a pool available for summer fun can be a lifesaver!  Let me tell you, it gets HOT here in Louisiana.  I know I can’t compete with y’all Arizonans, but when you throw in a boatload of humidity like you get around here no one really wants to be outside…unless they’re outside in the pool.

When I was a kid we had a pool in our backyard.  We probably went swimming almost every day in the summer.  I remember my blondie sisters parading around with green pool hair all summer long.

Though I’ve only got boys in my brood, I still want to make sure I take care of their hair.  They don’t need chlorine, pool salts, or minerals hanging out in their hair any more than girls do.  I was sent Fairy Tales Sun & Swim line to use on my boys’ summer pool hair.

Fairy Tales Sun & Surf line includes: Lifeguard Clarifying Shampoo, Lemon-Aid Conditioner, and CoCo Cabana Sun Spray.

Fairy Tales Sun & Swim hair care removes sea salt, chlorine green and daily build-up with gentle fruit extracts. Vitamins and minerals restore softness, boost shine and protect hair.

Okay, before I get into how I liked these for my sons’ hair, I have a confession.  I commandeered the CoCo Cabana Spray!  I LOVE IT!  It’s like spraying coconut scented silk into my hair.

Banana leaf extract and coconut oil protect and defend against sun & surf!

I have a short almost pixie hair cut.  When I’m in a hurry, or am having a tough time getting a second to myself (you know what I mean, mamas) in order to style my hair, I just spray some of this in my hair and go.  It helps my hair stay super soft and keeps it from sticking up like a fluffy little puff ball on the crown of my head. 🙂  –Yeah, when I don’t style my hair I look like a 10 year old boy.–

I had my boys give the Lifeguard Clarifying Shampoo a test run.  The Lifeguard Clarifying Shampoo…

Removes chlorine “green” sea salts and minerals with gentle yet effective extracts for clean, soft and shiny hair. Aloe and jojoba restore moisture and detangle.

The Lifeguard Clarifying Shampoo was great on my hair too! It was so soft after I washed it I could have forgone conditioner.  I LOVE the smell, too!  It has a very subtle, tropical fruity smell.

Another plus of the Lifeguard Clarifying Shampoo for is that it is paraben and sulfate free, and it is made without nut oil, dairy, gluten, or soy.  In this family we really appreciate allergy-friendly shampoo!

The Lemon-Aid Conditioner is equally nice and left my hair (cause I don’t use conditioner on my boys’ hair) so smooth.  I love how clean and soft my hair feels once it is dry.  The Lemon-Aid Conditioner’s…

Deep cleansing treatment heals sun damaged hair with natural extracts and moisturizing ingredients!

Don’t let the “Fairy Tales” theme throw you off.  These hair products are for the whole family! These color-safe hair products will be loved by mom and dad too!

My kids use Fairy Tales religiously and they put on the bug spray on every morning before camp and school! I always recommend it!
  2. Coconut oil is so good for your hair, I can see why you commandeered it for yourself! :)
  3. Ah, this sounds like a lifesaver for a Florida mama like myself. I'll have to check it out for myself and my girls!

I have not heard of this brand before. Want to give it a try now.
  5. I've lived in both places and Louisiana wins HANDS DOWN for miserable heat. Everything is dry in Arizona - I can handle 110 here. But 80 in Louisiana? No way! I often travel to California to see my in-laws and I always need help with my hair (and the boys' hair) there! Thanks for the review!
  6. I really need to use this for my son- he's always in the pool! Great review!

I'd love to try the Lifeguard Clarifying Shampoo. I'm so happy to hear this product exists because all of the chemicals from the pool turn me off from wanting to spend a lot of time in it.

This Fairy Tales Clarifying shampoo is a great product to use in the summer after swimming. I would like to try this shampoo and see how it works. It sounds like it also smells awesome with the Banana leaf extract and coconut oil scents!
  9. I love their Rosemary spray and will have to check out the other products too!
