Disclosure: I’m so excited for the opportunity to share this insider news about the Man of Steel movie premier as part of this sponsored campaign from Warner Bros.
Father’s Day is coming (signal that not so happy sinking feeling I get in my stomach when I haven’t ever started thinking about what I’m going to do for my husband)! I could just get The Husband a mushy card and call it good. But what kind of thank you would to a truly awesome dad and husband. Pretty mediocre, I’d say.
When he’s home from work The Husband is a pretty hands-on dad. He plays with the kids–superheroes are a favorite–builds them all sorts of cardboard structures and vehicles, and is in charge of bedtime. When he’s done with that it’s on to the dishes. He finally settles on the couch at about 9pm to watch the latest and greatest superhero cartoon for 30 minutes before turning in for the night.
So when thinking of things that really say “Happy Father’s Day” “We appreciate all you do” some of those things were bound to be things he gets to do ALONE. 🙂
1. Video game night with the buds. Really? You’re thinking, how is this celebrating Father’s Day? Here’s my take on this: with a full-time (plus some) job, three little ones, and a devotion to his wife, it is a rare weekend when The Husband hops online and plays video games with his friends. Giving The Husband a few precious hours to play games with his buddies is the least I can do to express my appreciation for all he does for our family.
2. An uninterrupted Saturday morning sleep. This one is a given after #1. 😉
3. A morning basketball game with friends. I was a little surprised when I asked The Husband what he’d love to do on the Father’s Day weekend and he came up with this one–given his propensity for basketball game injuries.
4. A steak dinner with the wife. Is just my husband, or are most men carnivores? LOL. I can’t poke too much fun, though, because I get to be a part of this one.
5. A night out at the theater watching Man of Steel, the new Superman movie. Always a lover of superhero movies, The Husband has been following the production of the new Man of Steel movie since the intent to produce it was first announced online. What better way to say “I love you, and thank you for being such a great father!” than to surprise him with tickets to the EXCLUSIVE pre-screening of Man of Steel on June 13th!
