I’ve mentioned before that we’ve recently gone gluten-free. My husband and both my boys are sensitive to the stuff so we finally decided to leave it behind. Since then I’ve gotten creative with making some of our previous favorite meals gluten free. In most cases this simply means finding a substitute for bread. 🙂
The other day while frantically trying to finish the grocery shopping in time to get home and make dinner I received a little dinner inspiration. I was exhausted and spending an hour to fix dinner was the last thing I wanted to do. Besides that, I was walking by the meats and was suddenly craving Southern Barbecue! What to do?!
Ah ha! In my purse I had a coupon for Hormel’s Simple Ideas Lloyd’s BBQ that was sent to me as a part of my participation in Hormel’s Extended Family Blogging Program. I picked up a tub of the Seasoned Shredded Pork in original BBQ Sauce. Then I went and grabbed a bag of shredded coleslaw, some coleslaw dressing, and some green onions.
To summarize here is everything you’ll need:
- Lloyd’s BBQ – Whatever variety floats your boat
- Romaine Lettuce – With the bottoms cut off
- Coleslaw: make it yourself or buy it premade
And here’s what you’ll get…
Healthy and delicious, gluten-free BBQ Lettuce Wraps!
