By now you’ve seen a few posts from me about swaddle blankets.  Well, we recently received a swaddler to review that is unlike any I’ve ever seen.  If you’re a parent of a colicky baby, or if you’re simply a parent who’d like to get a little more sleep at night then keep on reading.

Nested Bean contacted me several weeks ago and asked if I’d review their Zen Swaddle.  I became intrigued as I looked at the Nested Bean website.  Here’s why:

The Zen Swaddle™ is the only infant swaddle to mimic your touch. Its lightly weighted parts apply gentle pressure on your baby’s sides and center to provide the comfort and security of being held. Touch or simulated touch is medically proven to calm babies by triggering a self soothing response thus improving their ability to regulate stress. Therefore, the Zen Swaddle™ combines the benefits of swaddling and touch to provide a time-tested and truly safe, secure environment for your baby.

about zen swaddle

Like many parents who’ve used the Nested Bean Zen Swaddle we love how soft the cotton swaddle is.  Because the swaddle is made of cotton it has quite a bit of stretch.  This may be a drawback for some as it is our easiest swaddle blanket for Baby Brother to break out of. Usually though, he contents himself with putting his hands up by his face and doesn’t pull his arms all the way out.   In this position he still feels safe and secure in the embrace of the Zen Swaddle.

I really love the weighted areas on the abdomen and sides of the blanket.  The Nested Bean website says that mothers using the Zen Swaddle with their babies report that their babies sleep up to 2 hours more per night.

Nested Bean Zen Swaddle

Baby Brother has always been a fairly good sleeper.  He goes to bed between 8 and 9 pm, wakes up once or twice to eat at night and awakes at about 7:30 am.  Last night, nestled in the Zen Swaddle, Baby Brother went to bed at 9 pm, slept til 5 am when he woke up to eat, and then slept again until 8:30 am.  Can I just tell you how amazing it was for him to sleep til 5 am!!! And then again until 8:30 am!!!

This doesn’t happen every time we use the Zen Swaddle, but I’ll take what I can get. 🙂

The Zen Swaddle comes in size S/M (that’s one size) and fits babies approximately 7-14 lbs and from 19-26 inches.

The Zen Swaddle retails for $39.99.  You can read more about the Zen Swaddle at NestedBean.com

  1. Sounds like it helps him sleep quite comfortable. I never swaddled mine, but I probably would now if I had little ones!
  2. Wow!! That's awesome. I used to place a stuffed animal on by little one and I'd stand over his crib watching him - this would have been so much easier!
  3. Aw! Baby Brother looks SO cozy! Love all the different swaddlers out there! This one looks very nice!
  4. Overlap the start of your bandage conveniently, making sure that it stays in location after you remove it from your hand.
