I don’t know about you, but when I have a newborn I like my baby to be close to me at all times. Whether he’s awake or sleeping I like him always to be in my sight. That is just one of the many reasons I appreciate the Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper.
The Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper features three reclining positions and calming vibrations.
All the way reclined the rocker napper functions as a bassinet (though manufacturers state that it is not intended for extended periods of sleep). The borders of the rocker napper raise up as the seat is reclined creating a safe sleeping atmosphere for the baby.
When baby is awake the seat can be raised to the slightly raised “Rock n Play” position (shown in the middle picture). From that position baby can interact with the baby-activated lights and sounds mobile. The lights and sounds mobile features 9 different tunes with two volume levels to stimulate or lull baby. When not in use the mobile can be rotated away from baby or removed completely.
As baby grows the 3-in-1 Rocker Napper can be put into a more upright position that acts as more of a seat for baby or toddler. In this position the Rocker Napper can accommodate a baby/toddler up to 40 lbs.–the other two positions are for babies under 20 lbs.
Here are our thoughts on the Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper:
I love the overall look of the Rocker Napper! In the bassinet position the rocker napper had the look of a timeless, yet modern, piece of baby furniture.
The inside of the Rocker Napper features a soft pad for baby to lay on. One review I read prior to trying this for ourselves complained that inside surface of the Rocker Napper was hard and uncomfortable. While not as soft as a mattress would be I was pleased with how comfortable the inside pad felt. Any cushier would make me feel uncomfortable about my baby’s safety.
One feature I consider a must that I was so glad Tiny Love included on this product is the simple, yet effective, soothing vibration option. Baby Brother quickly calms and goes to sleep when I turn the vibration on.
You can see Baby Brother watching the lights on the mobile.
Right now, at 4 weeks old, the only position we can use the Rocker Napper in is the flat, 180° position. Baby Brother has reflux so I thought the middle reclining position would be good to keep him slightly propped up. However, because the bed portion of the Rocker Napper is flat as opposed to the sling-like cradling of a bouncer, Baby Brother tends to slump over when the seat is in an elevated position. Once he gains more neck and back control this won’t be an issue.
I also really like the concept of the most raised seat position, allowing infants (who can sit up on their own) and toddlers use the Rocker Napper as a chair. I had hoped that the “chair” position would be more like one of those grow-with-me type chairs I’ve seen. The Tiny Love Rocker Napper says that in the seat position the Rocker Napper weight limit goes up to 40 lbs. I had my 36 lb. just turned 3 year old sit in it to test it out. Um…unless your child is a short and very chubby 40 lbs I wouldn’t attempt to use this chair up to that weight limit. When my 36 lb. 3 year old sat in the chair I could see that he was putting a lot of stress on the backrest portion of the chair. In addition to this, even at its most upright position, the chair is still fairly reclined. Great for a young toddler or baby who needs to be in a relaxed position. Not great for an active toddler who wants to be upright in a chair.
While the short comings of the Rocker Napper chair position are kind of disappointing, I don’t think they’d be a deal breaker for very many people. I expect the Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper to more than fulfill its $99 price tag in the next year or two that we use it. Overall I’m very satisfied with the look and function of the Rocker Napper and look forward to much more use from it.
