I have a confession.
Neither my husband nor I are great gift givers. Come Valentines Day we always write each other cards or letters full of romantic sentiment. But when it comes to finding great gifts both of us seem to fall short. Well, except for that time almost three years ago when I gave The Husband a son for his Valentines Day/birthday present. Since then, however….
Then, a couple months ago I read a blog review on Shari’s Berries. Oh. My. Goodness! Can I just tell you how delicious these things looked! I knew that The Husband would LOVE these for Valentines Day and I was actually planning on ordering him some! So, when I was asked if I wanted to do a review for Shari’s Berries I said, “Heck, yes, I do!”
Shari’s Berries is an online purveyor of edible gifts. Simply hop on the website and choose from a variety of sweets including truffles, cake pops, the famed chocolate covered strawberries, cupcakes, and much more. Once you’ve made your selection you can choose the date you’d like your gift to be delivered, write a personalized gift note (if you’re indulging yourself feel free to write a note to yourself telling yourself how wonderful you are), and place your order. Oh, and if you love to save money Shari’s Berries has you covered with some Shari’s Berries coupon codes listed right on their website.
After hemming and hawing around the website for a couple days–I wanted to make sure I got the perfect Valentine’s Day Gift for my husband–I found the perfect chocolate covered strawberry combination. I ordered this cute and delectable looking Love Bug Cake Pops and Valentine Strawberries Combo! I thought the kids would love the cake pops.
Don’t these look delicious?! All I can say is that they were every bit as yummy as they look in the picture! Seriously! Now that I’ve ordered from Shari’s Berries I gotten some really great coupons from them in my inbox. I’m seriously tempted to place another order for The Husband’s birthday in a few weeks.
There was only one con to our Shari’s Berries experience. While the strawberries and cake pops came with a nutritional fact guide complete with ingredient list, the ingredients were not listed anywhere on the website. I wrongly thought that these chocolate covered strawberries would contain minimal and simple ingredients. Not so. They do have multiple hydrogenated oils in them (which I’m really not a fan of), one of which my 5 year old is allergic to. I got the boys all excited about the coming treats only to find out when they arrived that my son couldn’t have any. 🙁 But, because I’m an awesome mom 😉 we made him some of his own chocolate covered strawberries and everything was great.
And, I’m happy to report that the husband didn’t mind one bit that he had to receive his Valentine’s Day present a little early!
