It’s the most wonderful time of the year….

christmastreeFrom the week before Thanksgiving to New Years day is my absolute favorite time of year!  The holiday season is filled with family, music, wonderful smells, a wonderful spirit of giving.  In addition to all these, as a parent, you have the added bonus of seeing the joy your children experience during this time.

This year will be the first year our family has ever had Christmas at our own home. It will be just our little family.  Though I’ll miss being surrounded by extended family, I’m looking forward to creating some of our own family traditions.

One tradition we began in November and have carried on into this month is our Thankful Tree.  Each night we take turns naming something we are thankful for.  That thankful thought is then written on a thankful note which is then hung on the thankful tree.  A common theme of our thankful tree has been FAMILY.

As The Husband and I have thought about how we want Christmases to be at our house we have found a similar theme: FAMILY.  Instead of focusing on shopping, getting, Santa, etc., we are doing all we can to foster family togetherness.  We are only buying a few gifts, and each of the gifts we buy will be things that will help us have fun experiences together.

This December I am participating in “Pin the Halls” in conjunction with HP and Snapfish. Pin the Halls is designed to give holiday pinspirations for gift giving, decorating, family time, arts and crafts, etc.  I have created a Family Gifts & Activities pinboard

Here are a few of my fun gift and activity pins!

I absolutely love the streamlined, compact design of this computer!  It has been a while since we owned a desktop computer and we’ve become used to the very little amount of space our laptops take up.  Even with the the large 20 inch display screen, HP’s ENVY 20 All-in-One PC doesn’t require that you compromise any much needed desktop or storage space.  The hard drive, disk player, and ports are all built into the back of the monitor.  And, can I just say that the Beats Audio is AMAZING! If you lived in a small place you could have this be your TV and not be missing out on any sound quality you get from a good HD TV.

The touch technology of tablets was once a thing of the future. I think we were all awed when this technology we’d seen in the movies became available for us to own in our homes via tablets.  Now, HP has made this technology available to us (at a very affordable price) in PC form.  The home screen is set up for ultimate ease of use.  With the app layout you have all your favorite social, entertainment, and media links right in front of you.

My boys are absolutely thrilled that they can play games like “FreshPaint” and color virtual coloring pages with their fingers using HP’s TouchSmart technology!  It is much more intuitive for them than using a mouse.

Over the next couple weeks I’ll be showing off more of the ENVY 20 All-in-One’s cool features as well as hosting an exciting giveaway for this amazing PC’s #1 accessory: the HP ENVY 120 e-All-in-One Printer!!!! so stay tuned!

Disclosure: I am participating in HP’s Pin the Halls ambassador program.  I received the above mentioned product as well as some accessories, at no cost to myself, in order to facilitate my posts for the program.  The opinions expressed are honest and are entirely my own.
