It is getting to be that time for me when I need to start thinking about nursing apparel.  With my first two boys I heard that you should wait until a week or so after your milk comes in to buy a good nursing bra.  That way you’ll know what size to get.  Yeah, that just didn’t cut it for me.  I hated having a crappy nursing bra for the first month or so (because that’s how long it takes any normal person who has just had a baby to make it out to the mall).

Now that I’ve had a couple babies already I’m fairly confident I can pick out a nursing bra/shirt that will fit well when the time comes.  Then comes the challenge of finding something I like.  I already feel pretty frumpy after baby so I like clothes and underclothes that feel, at least, a little sexy.

I’m sure that I’m not the only mom who feels like this.  That’s why I absolutely loved the Leading Lady Holiday Nursing Collection.

Leading Lady is a premiere intimate apparel company dedicated to creating comfortably functional, remarkably affordable, stylish and easy-to-wear bras, camis and sleepwear. A family owned and operated business, Leading Lady has been expertly tailoring nursing and full figure bras for top brands and retailers across North America for more than 70 years. Leading Lady’s comprehensive line of nursing and full figure intimates – including sexy stretch lace wirefree and underwire bras, supportive and seamless sport and yoga bras, and cozy sleep and leisure bras – can be purchased directly on LeadingLady.com.

I received the Leading Lady Shirred Front Nursing Cami, and, can I just say, that it is so cute!  This piece is totally versatile.  Because it is a cami you can wear this to bed so you can nurse at night, you can lounge around the house with it, or you can pair it with a cardigan for a cute, sexy look for an evening out with the hubby.

The front is shirred at the bust which adds a flirtatious touch.  The shirt has elastic just under the bust giving it an empire waist.  Below the empire waist the cami has enough fabric to give it a flowing look or to allow enough room to wear while pregnant.

This top is extremely comfortable.  Though the cami has a full inner sling, it doesn’t offer as much support as a more traditional nursing bra would so I wouldn’t recommend wearing this 24/7 during the first couple weeks after the baby is born.

There is one thing that I was a little disappointed about while searching the Leading Lady website.  Leading Lady is a specializes in nursing bras and full-figured bras.  Well, while I’m nursing I’m around a 34DD.  Imagine my disappointment when, after browsing all the cute nursing bras, thinking I finally found a place that carried bras that were made for more than just functionality, I find that they don’t carry the bras in my size.  I didn’t think a 34D+ was that unusual while nursing. 🙁  Then again, I can’t find my size nursing bras in brick and mortar stores either so maybe I am unusual. LOL

Update: The very helpful people at Leading Lady let me know that because their bras have 4 hook and eye closures in the back for increased flexibility in band size.  So, if you’re a 34 D or DD like me, you can likely go up to a 36 D and be just fine.

You can order the holiday nursing collection and other styles now and after the holidays.  And, if you order before December 7th you’ll get FREE SHIPPING !

I only have one son and when he was a baby, I didn't nurse.. I ended up going back to work and it was so much easier for me to simply do formula.. That way anybody could wake up and make the bottle for him. Lately I hear so many things that make me regret not nursing and pumping milk.. I know if I HAD, I would be looking for clothing/undergarments too that are comfortable yet make me feel sexy because I sure felt horrible about myself after having my son!!!
  3. Sounds like a great nursing bra!
  4. Great review! Looks like they have my size so I'll definitely be checking them out for when the twins come!
  5. I wish I had got a nursing cami when I was first breastfeeding. It would have made my life so much easier. Probably a lot more comfortable, too!
  6. I've never worn their bras, but I love my nursing cami from them!!

I love that these are so stylish. I've seen so many plain, not so cute items for nursing moms but these are adorable! Moms need to be feeling good about themselves and this will surely help having items like they have
