I made a big decision last Spring when I decided to replace my broken Macbook with a PC.  It had been many years since I’d worked on a PC.  One of my biggest concerns with switching back to a PC is the risk of having my computer infected by malware.  For the most part that wasn’t a concern I had to deal with when I was on a Mac.

I didn’t want my computer to be constantly slowed down by viruses, trojans, spyware, and all that other stuff.  As soon as I got my new computer up and running I bought a 1 year antivirus subscription for $100 from a popular antivirus brand.  It was a big purchase, but I figured it would be worth it.

Imagine my disappointment and frustration when my brother-in-law told me that the program I’d purchased wouldn’t protect against most of the major viruses because most viruses are made to work around the popular antivirus softwares!  Ahhh!!!

Then I heard about FixMeStick

FixMeStick is a simple virus removal gadget that is super simple to use. It is a self-updating, self-contained USB device.  There is no software to install.  Because there is no software to install it won’t take up space and slow your computer.  Here are some other FixMeStick features:

  • Hardware-based detection and removal of viruses, spyware, trojans, rootkits, and more that cannot be removed with software security products.
  • Runs from a USB device and doesn’t install software to your PC so viruses and malware can’t interfere with the disinfection process.
  • Rapid reaction to new and emerging threats with intelligent scanning that uses 3 unique scanners from Kaspersky Labs, Sophos, and GFI’s VIPRE.
  • Works an unlimited number of times on up to 3 different PCs for one year from the date of first use. Recharges can be purchased from the FixMeStick web site.

Now, after learning about the FixMeStick I’m glad that I bought the antivirus software that I did.  The software will still be useful in filtering out most of the threats to my computer.  But for the malware that manage to get through I’ll have the FixMeStick as a backup.

I have to admit that I was a little skeptical that this little USB could do something that you usually have to take your computer to a professional to do.  My doubt dissipated, however, when I read all the reviews on Amazon.  The FixMeStick has a 5 star rating!

FixMeStick is available for $59.99 for a USB that will work unlimited times on 3 computers for 1 year.  For business owners and IT departments there is also FixMeStickPRO.  FixMeStickPro ($299.99) will work on an unlimited number of computers, an unlimited number of times for 1 year.

Win it!

Disclosure: I received the above-mentioned product at no cost to myself for review purposes. Because I do not currently have a problem with viruses, spyware, etc., on my computer I referenced the reviews given my users on Amazon. All opinions are honest and are my own.

  3. Unfortunately, these anti-yeast drugs only poved to be a temporary solution and were not effective in providing a permanent remedy to my candidiasis. They do not affect the baby and they generalply clear up with treatment. However, once you hhave the infection, eating yogurt of any kind won't actually cure it.
