The start of school after a long summer always makes me feel like it is a new year. It is a new school year, I understand that, but I’ve always felt like the New Year was misplaced. It should have been in September rather than January.
Just like our kids want to go back to school in style, making an impression, I often find myself wanting to freshen my look. I’m not a clothes horse, I try not to go shopping very often, but I still like to look good.
Most parents, whether working or stay at home, tend to get into a “frump” rut on occasion. I’m certainly no exception. While I’m not going to go out and spend a fortune on a fresh new wardrobe, there are inexpensive things I can do at home to freshen my look.
A fresh new look always starts with a smile. A great smile is the key to looking good no matter what you’re wearing! Here are some interesting statistics about our “smiles”:
· 87% of adults want whiter teeth**
· People with white teeth are perceived to be 65% more professional and 51% more confident*
· A white smile is visible from 200 feet and is a sign of warmth, confidence, and health*
· White teeth increased the perception of a person’s professional success by 68%, financial success by 64%, and trustworthiness by 52%*
I was sent some Rembrandt and Reach whitening products to try. I’m ashamed to say that most of the Rembrandt whitening products I didn’t even know existed!
Did you know that Rembrandt has a whitening kit that will whiten your teeth with just a 2 hour treatment?! The kit includes the same proven, enamel-safe ingredients that dentists use. I’m looking forward to seeing an extreme difference in my teeth with this! If you’re an on the go person Rembrandt’s Intense Stain Disolving Strips are very cool. Just place the strips on your teeth and go. They’ll dissolve on their own in your mouth!
And, of course, Rembrandt has whitening toothpaste. What I didn’t know is that they have a special whitening toothpaste for people who are prone to canker sores. Since I am prone to canker sores I was sent this kind to try. Rembrandt’s Canker Sore toothpaste SLS and surfactant-free so it is gentle on your mouth while still whitening your teeth. I did have to get used to the fact that this toothpaste doesn’t foam up like most toothpastes, but that wasn’t a big deal.
I had heard of the new Reach® Total Care + Whitening Toothbrush on a commercial a couple months ago and I was intrigued. As one who cares about her smile (hey, I’ve had a LOT of money invested in this smile over the years–that’s a post for another day, though) I thought this was an amazing idea. Reach® has also come out with their new Total Care Whitening Floss. It is patented with Micro-Grooves® to remove up to 2x more plaque than Glide.
Disclosure: I was sent samples of the above mentioned products to try for review purposes. I received no monetary compensation for this post. All opinions expressed are honest and are my own.
