We were so excited to finally have some new family pictures taken a little over a month ago!  It had been 2 years since our last family pictures, and Little Brother doesn’t quite look the same at 2 years old as he did when he was just 4 months old. We had our super talented friend up in Austin take our pictures, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out!

When we got our pictures back I realized that our new pictures wouldn’t fit into our current frame set up, and I decided I wanted to go for a large canvas print.  I’ve always admired the canvas portrait look in other people’s homes.  I figured that if we were going to the expense of having professional pictures taken we may as well spend the money to have a professional canvas print done.  I know what my uber-frugal husband must have thought when told him this. Fortunately, I was able to find a few places where we could get a canvas print of our picture for a great price.

I decided to go with Easy Canvas Prints. The regular price for a 16×20 (the size we wanted to get) is $89, but they almost always have a discount with free shipping going on.  For instance, they currently have a Father’s Day sale going on where you get 25% off your canvas price plus free shipping.  That brings the total cost of the 16×20 canvas to $67.06.

The ordering process is very simple.  You simply upload your picture to the EasyCanvasPrints.com, and the site will walk you through the process of creating your canvas.  There are not photo editing features integrated into this process (other than the ability to crop your photo) so make sure your photos are edited ahead of time.  The only thing I didn’t like about this process is that the uploader automatically cropped our photo so it was fairly close-up compared to the original.  I would have preferred to have a little more of the green background in our picture.  Some of this may have simply been a result of the dimensions of the original compared with the 16×20 dimensions.

Despite that the picture turned out wonderfully!  I am very happy with the quality, and we’ve already received several compliments on our new family picture setup!

Prices start at just $29.99 (sale price) for an 8×8 and go up to $109 (sale price) for a 24×36.  You can also order custom sizes.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary print from Easy Canvas Prints in order to facilitate this review.  All opinions expressed are honest and are my own.
