Summer fun guide button

Summertime can be hard for families with kids in the younger age groups.  When you’ve got a child who still needs regular naps and a child or children who don’t it is difficult on the kids to have to stay inside so mommy can listen for the baby.  I can’t tell you how many times throughout the years I’ve taken Big Brother outside to play and so anxious about not being able to hear Little Brother when he wakes up from his nap.  I end up going back in the house every 10 minutes to check on him.

vtech baby monitor

VTech Safe and Sound Digital Audio Monitor has solved that problem for me.  With its up to 1,000 foot range I can take Big Brother outside to play without having to that we’ll be out of range.  The other feature I consider a “must-have” is the Talk-back Intercom System.  The boys like to push the boundaries at night time and try to do anything they can think of to get us to come in the room.  Now I can just push the intercom and tell them to stop goofing around without having to go into the bedroom or come to their door.  This baby monitor will also be helpful when Little Brother wakes up from his naps and I’m outside with Big Brother. I can simply push the intercom button and let Little Brother know that I’m on my way back inside to get him.

Here are some more features:

  • Vibrating Sound Alert – Enjoy some added peace by being silently alerted when there is sound in the baby’s room.
  • Talk-Back Intercom System – Remotely communicate with your baby from the parent unit to the baby unit. Soothe your baby from another room or even from outdoors.
  • Night Light – The loop on the baby unit illuminates to be used as a night light.
  • Five Level Sound Indicator – Turn the sound down on the Parent Unit and rely on the visual sound alert LEDs to indicate sound levels in the baby’s room.
  • Belt Clip – Take advantage of the extended range and rechargeable batteries on the parent unit by using the built in belt clip.
  • Backlit display on parent unit.
  • Rechargeable Batteries – With up to 18 hours of monitoring time, have the freedom to carry the parent unit everywhere you go without the hassle of a power cord.
  • Secure Transmission – The signal is digitized and encrypted ensuring that all transmissions between the baby unit and parent unit are private and secure.
  • Extended Range – Up to 1,000 feet of range allows you to feel safe and connected to your child while you go about your day.
  • DECT 6.0 digital technology provides crystal clear transmission, eliminating the annoying white noise you hear from analog monitors. The only sounds you hear are coming from your baby.

My boys don’t use a nightlight but I was impressed with the nightlight on top of the baby unit. I was skeptical that the loop on top of the baby unit could light enough to be an effective nightlight, but I found that  it produces a nice orange glow, just the right brightness for a child’s room at night.

Priced at only $39.95 I’d highly recommend the VTech Safe and Sound Digital Audio Monitor if you are in need of a high range baby monitor with a lot of great features.  I’ll be traveling a lot this summer with my boys, and I’ll definitely be taking this with me on all my travels.

  1. A good monitor is essential for mommy peace of mind! My daughter is obviously older now and we don't use her monitor all the time but she always turns it on when we have bad weather....she is terrified of storms, the monitor makes her feel more safe. When I can swing it, I always give monitors as my shower gift, I'll have to see if I can find one of these for the neighbor who is due any minute now.
  2. I love how cute the design is for these!
  3. I have a Vtech phone system and I love it. They make some excellent products and this one looks like another great one. I love the sleek design.
  4. I always used a baby monitor when my kids were little but didn't have anything this nice! Wish I had!
