When it comes to greeting cards the first thing that pops into my head is Hallmark.  They have been known for many years for their cards, stationary, invitations, keepsake ornaments, books and gifts.  They even have e-cards now so you can send them with just a click of the mouse.  You don’t even have to find a store to get the perfect card for the perfect somebody!  They have items for every occasion too.  Anniversary’s, birthdays, baby’s, graduation’s, thank yous, weddings and congratulations.  Plus they have every holiday imaginable.  Cinco de mayo, Teacher appreciation day, Memorial Day, Fathers Day and of course Mother’s day.  So to celebrate our mothers this year they have come up with a couple of adorable ideas.  Along with some really cute cards they have a Recordable Mom and Me book and a Recordable Artwork kit.
This is Hallmark’s Mother’s Day “Moment in Time” package that we received to try out.  It included the recordable mom and me book, the recordable artwork kit and 3 Mothers Day cards.

For the recordable book you turn each page and ask the kids a question and wait for there answers.  Then it records them so you can hear them back anytime you want.  I couldn’t wait to sit down with my kids and see what they had to say.  I was so excited!  And along with hearing their fun answers you get to hear their cute little voices and their cute little personalities from their responses.  It was so much fun to try out!

Here are a couple of the questions from the book and my kids’ answers.

Me:  What do you think that I do when you guys aren’t around?
Kids: Clean up and sit on the couch

(All I can say is I was pretty sick my last pregnancy, and I did sit on the couch a lot!  But at least I did try and clean up!)

Me: If I had a million dollars what would I do with it?
Kids: Put it in your wallet
Me: Then what would I do with it?
Kids: Go and put it in the bank!
Me: What would you do if you had a million dollars?
Kids: Put it in my piggy bank.
Me: Then what would you do with it?
Kids: Then I’d go buy a wallet so I can put my money in it.

I was amazed at my kids!  Being 4 and 2 they seem really smart and responsible.  I sure hope they stay that way, especially ones they become teenagers!

The Hallmark Mom & Me recordable book was really cute and fun to do together with kids.  I really enjoyed hearing their answers and it was just fun to spend the time together.  It was really easy to program by just pushing a button.  The one thing I thought was a little hard was that I only had one book and two kids that I was asking questions too.  My little guy is only two and he would just copy his big sisters answers.  So I had to alternate asking them questions so they could think up responses on their own.  But it was still really fun and I wanted to hear both of their answers so it still worked out really cute.

The Hallmark Artwork kit was lots of fun for my daughter.  It came with a canvas panel and Crayola washable paint so she could make a painting.  Then afterwards I was able to record her talking about her painting.  She basically just copied the rainbow that was on the front of package but it turned out really cute.  When I asked her about the painting she said she drew a rainbow because she loves them which is true. She is always drawing them with her sidewalk chalk outside.  The Artwork kit will be fun to keep forever so we can remember that how much she loved rainbows when she was little.

I really liked both the artwork kit and the recordable book because I can keep them forever and go back and listen to them anytime I want.  Kids don’t stay young forever and this is just a fun way to keep a little bit of their childhood with me.  I just loved it!

This year is the best memory. I was giving suggestions to a friend on what she should get her mom for mother's day. She works in a bakery, so I said she should make her a cake. I then said I would love a cake for mother's day. Later that day I went to pick up my 4 year old from daycare and when I opened the door, she said "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" and handed me a cake she had decorated all by herself. I was SO excited! Best Mother's Day, ever!!
  28. shirley zolenski says

On the way home, we stopped for free ice cream sundaes for Mom's. What a perfect day!
  30. My daughter is 3 and this year she made me a card all by herself. I love it and will treasure it forever!
