Yes!!!  My husband, a super hero genre lover and very intelligent viewer of action flicks, and I absolutely loved it.  My husband was so giddy about how awesome the movie was that the first thing he did when we got out of the movie was call his brother in Houston and brag about how amazing the movie was, and how he got to see it first.  (Okay, so the conversation wasn’t that immature.)

He was so excited about Marvel’s The Avengers that I thought it only appropriate to let him write the review.

Here is The Husband’s take…

Marvel’s The Avengers should have been an impossible movie to make. When I first heard it was being tried, I couldn’t fathom how any writer or director could coherently integrate story lines from 4 other movie franchises without totally botching it. Not only was this movie thoroughly unbotched, writer/director, Joss Whedon, managed to give all my favorite superheroes their fair share of screen time and provide some of the most entertaining action sequences I’ve ever seen. Most good action films have one or two “Wow!” moments that make you want to fist-pump the air. I felt like I was fist-pumping every 10 minutes during this film. The writing was great, too. There weren’t any tired cliches and the humor had me laughing out loud. Whedon really did it all: tight plot, satisfying character development, jaw-dropping action, comic relief, and all in 2 1/2 hours. I think it’s safe to say that Marvel’s The Avengers has raised the bar for the comic book movie genre.

Rated PG-13

  2. Sound like a fun movie. I am thinking my teenage son and my hubby would like this one.
    • I bet they would! You'd probably love it too. My husband and I went to see a movie last night and in line in front of us were 3 young teenage boys. They were debating about whether they should wait til later that evening and see Avengers or to see the 3 Stooges. I wanted to butt in and insist that they see The Avengers cause it's that awesome.
  3. We are going to see this next weekend I can't wait!
