Who would like a toy that could be past down from child to child, friend to friend? Basically a toy that can be played with forever! Well I think I have found those type of toys at Maukilo.com. It was there that I found the HABA (a German based) toy line.

The Maukilo team (many of them mothers themselves) search the world over to find incredible products inspired by European quality and innovation. Maukilo understands the importance of play and how essential it is to a child’s cognitive, emotional and social development. Their passion is finding products that are both fun and educational for children of all ages.

Check out some of these cute toys!

The Habaland Train
Discovery Blocks Zoolino

I was able to try out the HABA Sorting Box Animals from Maukilo.

My 20 month old little Buddy just loved it and it really held his attention!

Now this sorting box isn’t just a sorting box. When you look at the pictures of the animals and match up the shape it actually shows you what types of food that particular animal likes to eat! Genius! It doubles the learning!

This sorting box comes with two slides that you slip over the front of the box to place the shapes through. Both slides are double sided so there are 4 different possible ways to play.

The one down side I found to this was that my little guy could pull out the picture but couldn’t get it back in so that was a little frustrating for him. On the other hand, the sliding covers are really nice because it gives you many different playing options. If there was some way to lock in the picture I think that would help out. Well, at least for us!

I can see why HABA toys are known for lasting through kid to kid. They are built very sturdy and meant to last forever!
