I have a secret weapon when my toddler won’t eat his food. It is super yummy, packed with organic fruit and veggie goodness, is complete with grains, and has Omega 3’s. Want to know what my secret weapon is?
HAPPYTOT food pouches by HAPPYBABY!
As a mom, I can’t tell you how much we LOVE these! For the past year whenever Little Brother is sick and has lost his appetite these are our go to foods. When he’s being stubborn and won’t eat his dinner, we give in and give him a HAPPYTOT. And, you know what? I don’t feel a bit guilty or ashamed about it. HAPPYTOTS are almost certainly more nutritious and well balanced than whatever I’m feeding him for dinner.
Here is a little more about HAPPYTOT from the HAPPYBABY site:
Our HAPPYTOT line is the first and only baby food fortified with Salba®, nature’s super-grain. These 4.22 ounce pouches pack a lot of punch in the form of omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and minerals; and they come in six delicious flavor combinations:
• Green beans, pears & peas
• Sweet potato, apple, carrots & cinnamon
• Banana, mango & peach
• Apple & butternut squash
• Banana, peach, prunes & coconut
• Spinach, mango, & pear
Little Brother has had almost every flavor and loves them all (his fave is the Green Beans, Pears, & Peas, surprisingly since I can’t get him to touch whole green beans or peas)!
Since we already loved the HAPPYTOT foods, when HAPPYBABY contacted me to review their products, it was a no-brainer. In addition to a HAPPYTOT food pouch, they sent us a coupon for HAPPYMUNCHIES and frozen HAPPYBITES.
When we went to SuperTarget to get the goods I let Big Brother pick the flavor of HAPPYMUNCHIES. He chose the Broccoli, Kale, and Cheddar Cheese…good on ya, kiddo. Little Brother likes them and I’m glad to have him snack on a low sodium treat when he wants a snack, but I have to tell you, unless you really like the smell of dried kale and broccoli, don’t take a whif of the container, these babies are odoriferous (in other words, they’re slightly stinky).
The jury is still out on how the boys like the HAPPYBITES. I purchased the Veggie Tots (like a veggie tater tot) figuring that they look enough like a chicken nugget that the boys would at least try it–ugh, how terrible is that? We got Big Brother to try one (he’s used to having to at least try new foods), but Little Brother is a stubborn little stinker and wouldn’t even take a taste. I wish I could have caught the look on Big Brother’s face as he ate his HAPPYBITE. It was the most unconvincing, “yeah, Mom, this is great” look I’ve ever seen. The Husband and I ended up eating the rest of their HAPPYBITEs, and, really they’re not bad at all, they’re quite good. We’ll see what happens next time we serve them.
Final thoughts: I will continue buying the HAPPYTOT food pouches (in fact, you can get them super cheap on Amazon’s subscribe and save), and may also try the HAPPYMUNCHIES, but I found that at over $4 per box, the 8 oz box was a little pricey.
