Some of you may remember that a while back I had the chance to review the Moon Dough Magic zoo.  We all loved it, but, as I remarked in that review, it was very messy.  It is quite crumbly and has a tendency to get all over.  I didn’t necessarily think this was a problem because it is also extremely easy to clean up.  However, I learned through talking with some other moms about moon dough that not all mom’s liked Moon Dough as much as I did.  The #1 complaint?  It was too messy and flaky.

Last week I learned first hand just how messy Moon Dough can be when 2 19 month olds took over the Moon Dough at our little play date.  Moon Dough was flying all over the kitchen, and, as it flew, little white Moon Dough flakes rained down upon us like the first winter snow.  Winter snow, however, does not have to be cleaned up one flake at a time.

Needless to say I was excited when I was contacted just a couple days later to try the new Moon Dough formula.

Moon Dough sent me their new Push N’ Pop Ocean Pals playset.  After playing with our other Moon Dough set just a few days before, I could immediately tell that this Moon Dough was much less flaky.  It still does flake/crumble some, but it is very little compared to the previous formula.  I wouldn’t hesitate to bring this out at a playdate with a couple of toddlers. 😉

I was very impressed with the new one-step Push N’ Pop tools.  With the new Push N’ Pop tools even the young kids can make their very own ocean pals all by themselves.  I can’t tell you how proud Big Brother looked when he tried these.  He was beaming!  “Look, Mom!  Look what I made all by myself!”  The new Moon Dough formula is also better for molding so the things you make hold their shape better.

Another great thing about Moon Dough, it never dries out.  So when you happen to find a few pieces of green moon dough left on a chair when you played with it a couple days ago, don’t worry, you can stick it right back in the bag with the rest.

Moon Dough Push N’ Pop Ocean Pals retail for $9.99 and are sold at Amazon.com, and other major retailers including Walmart, Target, and Toys “R” Us

*As of 9/21 these are not yet on Amazon.com, but keep an eye out they’ll be there soon.  I also expect to see higher star ratings as people try this new dough formula.
