Granny Smith, and Gold Delicious, and Gala apples, oh my!  I love fall time and there are always so many apples in season and so many ways to eat them.  Personally, around our house, we love the granny smith and the gala apples, but there are so many different kinds out there I can’t even name them all!  Another thing I love about apples is that there is so much you can do with them.  You can dip them, cook them, or chop them up and they are always so yummy!  So I thought I would share a few of my favorite recipe’s.

Toffee Apple Dip – my favoite new apple dip!

8 oz package of cream cheese (softened)

1/4-1/2 cup of brown sugar

half a bag of toffee chips

Mix together in a bowl with a hand mixer.  Chill and serve with sliced apples!

Apple Snicker’s Salad – seriously the best salad ever!

6 large Granny Smith Apples

1 large Cool Whip

1 small box instant Vanilla pudding

1 8 oz. package Cream Cheese (soften in microwave)

6 Snickers candy bars

Mix cream cheese and pudding powder together with a hand mixer. Fold in cool whip. Chop apples and snickers into bit sized pieces and mix altogether in large bowl.

So yummy!!!

Crockpot Applesauce

3 pounds apples, peeled and quartered

1 cinnamon stick  (or 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon)

In a crockpot, place prepared apples and cook on high for about 3 hours, (or low for 6) or until fork tender.

For an extra special touch, put about a half teaspoon of butter on top and and sprinkle with a little bit brown sugar!  Then kind of smash up and serve warm.  So delicious for a fall afternoon!

I would love to hear your favorite way to eat apples or a favorite recipe of your own.

  4. That dip looks so good! I'm so glad it's apple season now. The best in my opinion are Honeycrisp Apples!
  5. Do you have to put any kind of liquid in with the apples in the crockpot in the beginning? Or do they make their own juices pretty quickly? Sounds good!! And today would be the perfect day for it since it's so cold and rainy!
    • I add the butter which adds a little liquid when it melts but pretty much the juice from the apples works just great. I never have a problem with them sticking or burning.

The dip looks great! I will have to try this one.
  7. That toffee apple dip looks delicious. We just made crock pot applesauce for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. I love making apple crisp and apple pie. And we love waffles with peanut butter and apple slices for breakfast.
