Tec Labs has been creating products to protect and restore the health of families since 1977.  I received three products to review that are very pertinent to summer.  During the summer we are out and about, busy being active.  Tec labs creates products that help us have fun without having to constantly worry about infections from cuts and scrapes, poison oak or ivy while camping, and the head lice–that can strike just about any time.

  • Staphaseptic~Applied to minor cuts, scrapes and abrasions, StaphAseptic® can help prevent skin infections and contains Lidocaine for effective pain relief.
  • LiceFreee Everyday Shampoo~Why deal with a head lice infestation when you can avoid it in the first place?  Have your family wash their hair with Licefreee Everyday! 2 in 1 Conditioning Shampoo to help keep your family lice free! Licefreee Everyday Shampoo helps creates an environment is your hear that is healthy for you but undesirable to lice.
  • Tecnu Outdoor Skin Cleanser~Use Tecnu® Original Outdoor Skin Cleanser after you have been outdoors to remove the rash causing oil, urushiol (oo-roo-she-all) from poison ivy, oak and sumac. Tecnu removes the oils to minimize the itch and irritation from poison ivy, oak, and sumac. It will also stop the itch from spreading. Tecnu Outdoor Skin Cleanser can also be used on pets.

Neither of the boys got scraped up while I had the Staphaseptic, and I didn’t feel like throwing Big Brother or myself into the woods behind the sign at the park that read, “Caution: Poison Oak”, so I didn’t get to see how effective the two were, but I was very pleased with the shampoo.  The shampoo contains Tea Tree Oil so the scent was very pleasant.

Big Brother will be attending pre-K beginning this August and I’m dreading the inevitable exposure he’ll have to head lice.  I had lice one time when I was a kid and, because I had very long hair, it was a dreadful!  My poor mother had 10 kids she had to treat!  I’ll be using the Licefreee Everyday Shampoo on a daily basis when Big Brother starts school.

The Tec Labs website has very informative FAQ pages that answer all of the most common questions about lice, poison oak/ivy/sumac, and “general anti-itch”.
