Have a great day! – April
What makes a cloth diaper shop awesome?  Well, here are my criteria: 1) Has FREE shipping. If the shipping is not free there must be a very low $ purchased threshold (e.g. orders of $25+ ship free). 2) Carries an excellent variety of the most tried and proven cloth diapers on the market. 3) Carries other natural baby and parenting products.  4) Offers excellent customer service.

Wee Little Changes hits the mark on every one of those 4 points!  They carry some of the greats in diapers including: GroVia, BumGenius, BabyKicks, FuzziBunz, Thirsties, and Econobum.  They also carry hundreds of other items for mom and baby including bath and body products, nursing pads and mama pads, and the cutest gifts and splurges!

April, of Wee Little Changes, sent me a GroVia AI2 to review.  I have been curious about the GroVia AI2 for a long time.  Remember in my last cloth diaper post how I said that AI2s are my first and true love when it comes to cloth diapers?  Well, just wanted to let you know that it is still true.

The GroVia AI2 is unlike any other cloth diaper I’ve seen.  The insert design is completely unique. Here is a little overview:

GroVia™ Organic Cotton Soaker Pads are designed to be super absorbent yet trim. Your GroVia™ Pads will mean smaller loads of laundry that use less water and detergent. Their layer of waterproof backing, true leg gussests and 6 layers of organic cotton, wash well and dry quickly.

There is a sewn in soaker pad on the top.
Check out those leg gussets!  Great for keeping messes in.
The soaker pad snapped in.

The top part of the soaker pad is a tad bit longer than the bottom part, but it lays in perfectly when the insert is in the rounded position to fit baby’s body.  We apparently got an oops soaker pad with the shell.  The top layer of the “oops” is made from a brushed cotton fleece and is so soft.  The pad was actually sewn inside out.  Apparently the fleecy material is usually on the inside.  The regular style (which I bought 2 of) is all cotton jersey.  That will be fine for the cotton lovers, but my little guy needs stay-dry so I will be adding a layer of fleece on top of the inserts (I made my own contoured fleece liners).

I am extremely impressed at how much wetness these inserts hold!  I swear that on one occasion when we took the insert out it would have weighed in at about a pound!  That’s a lot of pee!  The soaker pads are one size so you won’t have to buy separate soakers for each size.  Though I’m imagining they are very bulky on newborns and small infants.

Here is a quick summary of the Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • Hold a lot of wetness!
  • PUL backed insert keeps the cover from smelling like pee.
  • Leg gussets keeps messes in.
  • Very stretchy elastic is gentle on skin.
  • Strong hook and loop.
  • The AI2 style makes for less laundry and saves on soap and water.
  • Fit is great!

Cons:

  • Cotton Jersey is not as soft against baby’s skin as I’d like. For those that use natural fibers against baby’s skin this won’t be a problem.
  • Harder to get messy messes out of (before the machine washing, that is).
  • This insert takes the longest to dry (by far) of any of my inserts.

Here is the fit on Little Brother.  14 mos., 26.5 lbs.  He is on the largest setting–no rise snaps done.

Cute fluffy bum.
Very trim in the front and through the crotch.

Overall, I love this diaper.  It has become one of the first I use in our stash.

Buy It:

You can purchase GroVia shells (for $16.95) and inserts from ($17.95 for a 2 pack).

Disclosure: I was provided with the above mentioned product by Wee Little Changes at no charge to myself in order to facilitate a review.  The opinions expressed are honest and are entirely my own.
