I feel like clothing shopping, and most especially pants shopping, gets more irritating difficult as I get older.  My body no longer fits into the styles I wore as a young adult and I have no desire to brave the “mom jeans” style.  I see adult women out there who are stylish and can pull off a hot pair of jeans like nobody’s business, unfortunately I don’t think I’m one of those women.  Well, I didn’t think I was one of those women until…

Lilac Clothing is a truly unique clothing company that makes flattering and super chic clothing that fits both when you are pregnant and not.  How awesome is that?!  Lilac Clothing carries shirts, pants, slacks, and dresses.  All are designed so they can be worn before, during, and after pregnancy.  Here are some of my favorites.

I have coveted the Megan top for a long time! Here it is maternity style.
And look how cute it is when you’re not pregnant!
I love the versatility of this shirt.  Can be worn for a night out, a party, to the office, etc.

Another reason why I LOVE Lilac?  If you’re looking for maternity styles you won’t find any of that frump that everyone else sells.  All of their clothes are very flattering and sophisticated.

BabySteals.com frequently has Lilac clothing as their daily sale, but so far I’ve never been quick enough on the draw to find something in my size.  I started out loving their shirts, but, to tell you the truth, I never really thought much about their pants–mainly because of the price….until. Until I saw Lilac denim up close.  I got an up-close look at their tummy trimmer denim and my mind was instantly changed.

*Note: I’m at the top of the range for the size I’m wearing
Lilac Clothing makes several styles of denim and pants.  All of their pants are very flattering in the two areas we women need it most–the tummy and the butt.  I received the Flap Denim Shorts to review.  I love these!  They will be perfect for the hot Utah and San Antonio summers.  The shorts are a very flattering just-above-the-knee length.  I am super picky about pocket placement on my pants and I think Lilac got it perfect on that one.  The material is super stretchy, thin enough so you can move and bend very comfortably, but thick enough to last.  There is a tummy panel attached to the jeans–maternity use for this is obvious, but it is also great to just have the mid-section covered for bending and reaching purposes, though I’m not sure I’d go so far as to say it makes your tummy look flatter.  As for being able to wear these into pregnancy.  If I had to guess I’d probably say that these shorts would fit me to about the 6th month of maternity (they would have fit my whole pregnancy with my first).  I don’t mind paying the extra $ for something that I’m going to be able to wear, and look great in, both while I’m pregnant and while I’m not.

Buy It:
Lilac Clothing would be the perfect Mother’s Day gift for the expecting, soon to be expecting, or already finished expecting mom!  Tops start at $30, pants/shorts start at $80, and dresses/skirts start at $80.

Disclosure: I was provided with the clothing by Lilac Clothing  at no charge to myself in order to facilitate a review.  The opinions expressed are honest and are entirely my own.
