“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So… get on your way!”
— Dr. Seuss (Oh, the Places You’ll Go!)
I saw this post over at Family and Life in Las Vegas and From Chalkboards to Strollers and I thought I’d join in the fun!  You can learn a bit about who people are by looking at where they’ve been, for instance I had no idea that Liz (From Chalkboards to Strollers) swam competitively through high school or that Emily was on a diving team!  I love to swim so I think that’s pretty cool.
So you want to see where I’ve been?
The colored states are all the states I’ve been to.
I’ve visited some other cool places so I found a map of Europe too.
Because we’re all a little rusty on our European geography the colored areas include: England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and France.
I need to do some traveling around the eastern part of our country, and I need to do lots of traveling around Europe.  ; )
So, what have been my favorite places???
1) England!  I absolutely LOVE England and the 4 months I spent there in college.  While I was there I enjoyed the sunniest autumn England had experienced in 300 years so I didn’t have to experience “dreary, rainy England” or London fog.   It remains the most beautiful place I have ever visited, and I am absolutely entranced by its history.   I went when I was 20, took a leap, crossed the Atlantic to go to a place I had never been before and where I knew absolutely no one.  I came home with some amazing new friends and an enriched outlook on life.
2) Hawaii  Similar situation as above.  I went to Brigham Young University Hawaii for my first 2 years of college beginning when I was 17.  I knew no one when I went, but I made wonderful, life-long friends.  I had the chance to work at the Polynesian Cultural Center.  I learned about cultures I’d never before heard of, and was greeted each day by the smell of the clean ocean and the by the beauty of the island of Oahu.

3) Arlington, TX  I only lived in Arlington a short time but I have sooo many memories there: Getting an apartment with my sister, camping and the canoeing the Brazos, Friday night swing dancing at Southside preservation hall, taking my youngest brother on “adventures through the forest”, aka Arlington’s beautiful parks, before preschool, and all the awesome friends I made while I was there!

4) San Diego It’s where I grew up!  I am astonished by its beauty every time I go back to visit!

I wonder where the future will take me!
