Twin Sisters Productions "Five Little Bunnies" Review

Before becoming a stay-at-home mom I taught at an academic preschool.  I was constantly surprised by how quickly the children learned the concepts we taught.  I learned how important it is to expose children to new concepts and to never underestimate their ability to learn and learn them quickly.  When looking for books for my boys I tend to examine what concepts are taught as well as how well they are taught.  

Five Little Bunnies by Twin Sisters Productions is a beautiful book that teaches numbers, beginning counting (1 through 5), and pre-math skills in a delightfully simple way.  Big Brother (3) loved having this book read to him, and by the third reading he was beginning to understand the pattern of the book: 5 take away 1 is 4, 4 take away 1 is 3, and so on.

You can see the illustrations are cute too.

I also read this book during the preschool class I teach with Big Brother and two of his friends.  It was very engaging, even for the youngest (2 years old).  The book comes with a CD that has the read along story and 19 new and classic activity songs (total run time 32:20).  The songs include “She’ll Be Coming Around the Mountain”, “Apples and Bananas”, “Do Your Ears Hang Low?”.
