Ever since babyhood Big Brother has liked to dress up.  It all began with the hats (we’ll save that one for a wordless wednesday).  Now, what once started as a penchant for accessorizing has become a full blown obsession with dressing up.  Not just any dressing up mind you.  We are talking dressing up three-year-old boy style.  Each day big brother picks which character he is going to be for the day.  He dawns the costume, complete with gloves and mask.  He announces himself (his new self i.e. Spiderman, Batman, etc.)–always a superhero–and wo be unto you if you fail to call him by his superhero name
You’d think as good parents we would try to tone down the obsession a bit, you know, try to redirect him to other things like trains and playdough.  Naw, we’ve decided to feed this one…big time! I was given the opportunity to review a costume for CostumeSupercenter.com.  Now, I could have thrown some variety in to his repertoire and chosen a cowboy costume or a fireman costume, but Big Brother had been bugging me to make him a Wolverine costume. (Real scenario: Big Brother hands me a piece of paper and crayons, “I need you to make me a Wolverine suit, Mom.”  Really?? Do I sew???  I colored and cut out a “W” and pinned it to his PJs…he wasn’t impressed.)
Lucky for me CostumeSupercenter.com has a huge selection of boys costumes.  I browsed the superhero costumes and found the perfect costume complete with mask!  I didn’t tell Big Brother that I was getting this for him.  I wanted to see that look of sheer joy on his face when he opened the package.  He didn’t let me down.  He was so excited!  He put on his new Wolverine Origins Costume and wore it the rest of the day.  I’m such a gracious mom I even let him wear it to the dinner we had been invited to at a friend’s house.

Just because Halloween has long since passed doesn’t mean our days–err…I mean your kids’ days–of dressing up have to be.  CostumeSupercenter.com has a huge selection of costumes for every occasion.  They also have great clearance!  I found an Ironman costume for boys on sale for $7.99!  They also offer free shipping, both ways, on exchanges so you can feel confident that your selection will be the right one.

  1. Dressing up is good for kids. Kids who are more imaginative in their play do better in school and are more creative. Good for you for feeding this...only when Big Bother comes over dressed up, I then have to find a costume for Owen to wear--he's usually not impressed.
  2. Next time I send him over to play I'll make sure to send an extra costume or two. :)
  3. Great blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A design like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog jump out. Please let me know where you got your theme. With thanks
